Monet Bistro — French restaurant in Berlin Friedrichshain
Grünberger Straße 40, 10245 Berlin · A small French neighbourhood bistro and wine bar in Berlin Friedrichshain, two blocks from Boxhagener Platz and a 7-minute walk from Warschauer Straße. Modern French country cooking with a short, seasonal menu, vegetarian and vegan options on every rotation, a focused wine list of French growers, and seasonal cocktails.
About Monet Bistro
Monet Bistro is named after Claude Monet — not only because of the garden at Giverny, but because food and hospitality were part of the life around it. There were vegetables from the garden, long meals with guests, handwritten menus, and recipes from the household that were later collected in the cooking notebooks from Giverny. For us, a French bistro today is not formal dining and not a long menu. It is a neighbourhood restaurant built around the food: a focused selection of dishes, a room that feels relaxed from the start, and a table where a glass can turn into a bottle and dinner can take its time.
The bistro is small and intimate, with warm lighting, an open kitchen, and a wine cellar focused on French growers. The team and the menu are bilingual — English and German. Dogs are welcome in the dining room.

Wine and drinks
A focused wine list of French growers — sparkling, white, rosé and red — open by the glass, by the carafe or by the bottle. Bottles from €23 to €100. Six wines by the glass at any time, including Champagne Bauchet "Origine", Crémant de Loire, Chablis Baudoin Millet, Rosé d'Anjou and a Pinot Noir from Domaine Dauvissat. Seasonal cocktails from €8 to €12: Bistro Martini, French Negroni, Kir Royal, Lillet Spritz, Negroni Sbagliato, Campari Spritz and a non-alcoholic Seasonal Spritz. Download the wine list (PDF).
Private dinners and full buyouts
The whole bistro can be booked for up to 16 guests for a private French dinner with the open kitchen, the wine cellar and cocktails included. The room is small, so even a buyout stays close to a private chef format rather than a large group booking. For private dinner requests, please email reservations@monet-bistro.de.
